陶皿のようにも見える美しい一枚。一般的な漆器の艶のある仕上げとは異なり、漆の塗り跡がまるで使い込まれたような独自の風合いを生むマットな質感。穏やかにふくらんだリムが気軽さを生み、洋食にも使いやすい漆器のプレートです。工程の多さや素材の価格等から、漆器には手を出しづらいイメージがありますが、一度手にすると使い勝手の良さから毎日のように使いたくなる魅力も。杉田さんの漆器は強度の少ない箇所には麻布の補強が施されるなど実用性も高く、現代の食卓に馴染む漆器です。

Rim Plate by Akihiko Sugita
This beautiful plate has an appearance reminiscent of ceramic ware. Unlike the glossy finish of typical lacquerware, its matte surface showcases subtle brush marks that create a unique, gently weathered character. The softly rounded rim adds a relaxed feel, making it an easy match for Western-style dishes as well. Although lacquerware is often seen as difficult to approach due to its many production steps and material cost, once you use it, its practicality makes it something you’ll want to reach for every day. Mr.Sugita’s lacquerware is also highly functional, with linen reinforcement applied to areas that require extra strength, making it a perfect fit for the modern dining table.

这款美丽的盘子乍看宛如陶瓷器。不同于一般漆器的亮面光泽，它采用哑光质感，漆刷的痕迹营造出仿佛经过岁月使用般的独特风味。柔和鼓起的外缘带来轻松的氛围，使其在西式料理中也易于搭配。虽然漆器常给人因工序繁多与材料成本而难以入手的印象，但一旦使用，便会因其实用性而想每天都用。杉田先生的漆器在强度较弱的部位加上麻布加固，兼具耐用性，是非常适合现代餐桌的漆器。
