Suisakate Wave & Plovers Small Plate by Kenji Yanagawa
Mr. Yanagawa creates his work with the goal of enhancing a wide range of dishes. Inspired by classical aesthetics, his pieces feature soft, gentle tones, beautiful colors, and forms that feel comfortable in the hand with a pleasant mouthfeel. This small porcelain plate features charming plovers, their silhouettes left in white, soaring over stylized waves between layers of iron glaze. The deep gosu-blue contrasts beautifully with the warm, rich brown, creating a design that highlights the vibrant greens of vegetables such as ohitashi.
